Currency Converter
This currency converter turns an amount in one currency into another using live mid-market exchange rates, refreshed hourly. Enter an amount, pick the two currencies, and swap them with one tap. Rates move constantly, so treat the figure as an accurate reference rather than the exact amount a bank will give you.

How it works
Exchange rates are quoted relative to a base currency. To convert from one currency to another, the amount is first expressed in the base and then into the target — mathematically, amount × (rate of target ÷ rate of source). The rate shown here is the mid-market rate, the midpoint between the buy and sell prices that banks trade at.
In practice, banks, card networks, and money-transfer services add a margin (often 0.5–3%) on top of the mid-market rate, plus sometimes a fixed fee. So the mid-market figure is the fair benchmark to compare providers against, not necessarily what lands in your account.
Converted amount = amount × (rate_to ÷ rate_from), where rates are quoted against a common base currency. The mid-market rate shown does not include the margin a bank or card may add.
Worked example
Suppose 1 USD = 0.92 EUR and 1 USD = 83.3 INR. To convert 1,000 EUR to INR, the converter first finds the EUR→INR rate: 83.3 ÷ 0.92 ≈ 90.5. So 1,000 EUR ≈ 90,543 INR at the mid-market rate. A typical bank adding a 2% margin would instead give you closer to 88,700 INR.
Things to watch out for
Rates here update hourly and reflect the mid-market rate, so they can differ slightly from a live trading screen. For large transfers, always compare the provider's quoted rate against this mid-market benchmark — the gap is your real cost. Highly volatile or pegged currencies, and weekends when FX markets are thin, can show larger spreads at your bank than the mid-market rate suggests.
Frequently asked questions
How often are the rates updated?+
Live mid-market rates are fetched and cached hourly. If the live feed is briefly unavailable, the tool falls back to an indicative rate and tells you so.
Why is the bank's rate different from this one?+
We show the mid-market rate — the fair midpoint. Banks and apps add a margin and sometimes a fee, so their rate is usually a little worse. Use this as the benchmark to compare them.
Which currencies are supported?+
Over 160 currencies. Popular ones (USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY and more) are listed first in each dropdown.
Can I rely on this for a large transfer?+
Use it as a reference. For a large transfer, get the provider's exact quote and compare it to the mid-market figure here to see the true spread you're paying.
